Great time today at the Port Orange Triathlon on the Halifax River! You know it's going to be special when you see dolphins in the swim course before the race and on the run along the Halifax river. Fourth time doing this race
Managed a First today as I didn't recognize any of my competitors so I just pushed as hard as I could throughout. Averaged 18.1 mph on the bike with 2 climbs over the flyover bridge (18.5 at the start of the second climb) and 8:42 mile splits for the flat 4 mile run; total 1:28:21. 1:31 slower than my fastest time at this event. One comment during the cycling leg; "Wow, that bike is so cool!"
Lots of Seminole County Triathletes here today and 3 co-workers from EY, Brian Cash, Chris Hyma, and Jason Seifert. Brian got a second and Chris a fourth with a running injury. Hot and sunny too. John and Dana Dambrauskas both had great days; Dana won Female OA and John won his age group.
