# 167 Clermont Sprint Triathlon in August

Great triathlon yesterday in Clermont, Florida,; #167. Warm and humid at the start, good swim followed by a great bike ride. This woman and I had a see-saw battle through the hills. Enrique Mercado got a great photo of me climbing the first big hill. She pulled ahead just before the big downhill (38.6 mph) and I passed her on the next uphill at 7 mph and never looked back. We entered transition with her behind me and then the run began. I finished 3 minutes ahead of her as the run is where you win. Saw my nemesis James Mayer at mile 1 as he was heading back so he was a mile ahead of me. I finished well in the heat; high 80s by now in full sun. After my 5th place at this event in July I was surprised to find a 2nd place trophy waited for me. Lots of friends at this race too. Wonderful day!
